Magneto, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, is a prominent character associated with the X-Men in Marvel Comics, making his debut in The X-Men #1 (September 1963).
Born Max Eisenhardt, later known as Erik Lehnsherr, Magneto is a mutant with the power to control and manipulate magnetic fields. A Holocaust survivor, his experiences fuel his belief that mutants are superior to humans and destined to inherit the Earth.
